Product description
Japanese Lignum Vitae Wood & Jade Bracelet.
Kyoto is famous for the production of Buddhist prayer beads (Juzu, Nenju), these bracelets are handmade following this long tradition.
Each bracelet is handmade from 108 small beads using a combination of lignum vitae wood, and jadeite, and strung onto silk elastic cord.
Lignum vitae comes from Latin and means "tree of life" or "wood of life" because of its wide range of medicinal uses. This wood is one of the heaviest and the hardest and its durability makes it perfect for a multiplicity of uses. It has the feature of changing colour to a deeper green.
Jadeite is harder and rarer in comparison to Jade, it was particularly valued among The Chinese who have been using this gemstone for multiple purposes. First, jadeite is believed to give you physical strength thus improving longevity. Second, it is said to help you against negative energy. According to feng shui, jadeite could influence prosperity as well.
