Japanese Cedar Soap Dish
Japanese Cedar Soap Dish
Product Description
A simple soap dish handcrafted in Japan using Japanese cedar. Japanese cedar is rot resistant and has a beautiful scent, making it ideal for moist bathroom environments.
Japanese cedar (also known as Japanese red cedar or sugi) is a large evergreen tree that grows in mountains and areas of high rainfall in south and central Japan. It was extremely important in ancient Japanese society, both as a source of building material and for its spiritual aspects. Traditional Japanese culture places high value on natural items, and this attitude persists to the modern day.

Made in Japan.
Material: Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica)
Measurements:
Medium: 13.5 x 8.2 x H2cm
Large: 22 x 8.2 x H2cm
Care: We recommend the following cleaning steps for wooden soap dishes:
1. Every few weeks use a cleaning brush (small tawashi or toothbrush work well) to reach into the crevices of your dish and scrub any soap residue or stagnant water.
2. Rinse with lukewarm water and dry with a cloth
3. Allow to airdry thoroughly. We recommend swapping over to another dry soap dish while allowing the current one to fully dry out. Alternating dishes every 2 weeks will help prevent mould and mildew from developing, and it will prevent the wood from rotting.
