Product Description

The cotton yarns have been hand dyed in natural persimmon by Kam women artisans in Guizhou province following ancient textile traditions. The yarns are left in the sun in order to develop their natural colour. Next they are carefully warped onto the loom creating a variated and subtle striped pattern.

The Kam people carry the unwritten wisdom and history of their people, and keep over one thousand years worth of knowledge alive in song, folk stories, and crafts such as weaving. It’s a honour being able to support them in continuing these traditions.

A multi purpose cotton mat, which is ideal to be used as a tea pot mat. It has been stitched with small frayed edges and two layers of handwoven fabric.
